Mario golf switch unlock courses12/27/2023 ![]() This was actually talked about over at GameFAQs: This is pretty boring, but a lot quicker than playing with each character individually. If you can restart every 8 seconds, this will take you 40 minutes to unlock the alternate club sets for a group of 4 characters, or 2 hours and 40 minutes for all characters in the game. You'd have to restart the match 300 times to cap out those 4 characters. Simply starting a hole earns you 10 points, but you're earning it for all four characters at once. Every time the game gives you control to take your first shot, restart the match. :)ĮDIT: Another method for earning character points very quickly is a lot more cheesy: begin a course with four human-controlled players, which can be done with one controller under the assumption you'd pass it around. TL DR, if you want to unlock everything in this game you had better ABSOLUTELY ADORE GOLF. I think 30 seconds per hole is overly generous might be better to plan for 60-80 hours, especially if you want some variety in your gameplay. Using the numbers above, this would take 40 hours to unlock both alternate sets for every character if you're only scoring par, or 20 hours if you can manage to make every hole a birdie. If you're quick and accurate, you might be able to get around 30 seconds per hole (a little less for par 3, more for par 5). For all 16 characters, that's 2400 holes, all 2400 of them birdies, about 134 full 18-hole courses played well. If you are pretty good at the game, you might be able to do this in half the time with 50 holes with 50 birdies for the first set, and 150 holes with 150 birdies for both sets. That's 4800 holes of golf, or about 267 full 18-hole courses. If you are bad at the game, it'd be 100 par holes per character to get the first alternate clubs (a little over 5 full 18-hole courses each), and 300 par holes per character to get both sets of alternate clubs (over 16 full 18-hole courses each). To minimize load times you might want to do 18 holes at a time, or if you find a particularly good set of 3 or 6 holes etc., you could probably choose to repeat those over and over without having to go back to the main menu. A big reason to play solo is obviously not having to wait on other characters to take their shots, but you can also fast forward the shots with B. So this means the absolute optimal way to play to earn character points as fast as possible is to play stroke play, by yourself, on the Rookie Course, with light wind, over and over. My Mario had done 62 holes and 42 birdies, so he had 1040 points. To double check this scoring system you can look at a character's stats page and actually calculate exactly how many points they should have (their total is also displayed on the same page). You also earn 3 points per coin picked up in speed golf. You earn 10 points per hole you play, 10 points per birdie, 20 points per eagle, 50 points per albatross, and 100 points per hole-in-one. It turns out it does not matter how many other opponents are in the match, what kind of mode you're playing, which course you play on, or anything like that. Unsurprisingly, character points are earned by playing as that character. ![]() I played around to determine what exactly earns character points. The increased spin adds additional sections to the shot meter, which let you do trick shots like zig-zagging in the air in an S-shape: ![]() This changes their stats, adding 30 yards of distance, -1 control, and +2 or 3 spin per star. In this game, it's treated like equipping a different set of clubs, and you unlock them by earning 1000 character points and then 3000 character points, per character. Like past Mario Golf games, in Super Rush you can unlock more powerful versions of each character.
